Is there a plan in place to test teachers and staff members?
If a teacher tests positive does that whole class along with those siblings of kids in that class have to quarantine for 14 days?
What if a child tests positive? Is that information going to be released? Are we going to get actual information or a generated “someone has tested positive and you need to quarantine” generalized letters kind of like when lice happens?
Do contact tracers in schools test for COVID-19?
If a student or teacher tests positive in my child's classroom but the school has determined through contact tracing that they are not at risk, can a parent still choose to quarantine their child without penalty?
What happens if child develops a fever while in school? Will every child that develops a fever or symptoms similar to COVID-19 be required to take a test for COVID-19?
The parents will make the ultimate decision whether to take their child to the doctor when the child is sick with fever. Is that correct?

The district does not conduct COVID-19 testing. Staff members, along with students, will be required to certify their symptom- and fever-free status daily.
That will be based on the results of contact tracing and guidance from the DuPage County Health Department
Letters will be sent to parents in the classroom and/or bus. The letter will include whether or not your student must quarantine for 14 days.
Our schools do not do contact tracing or COVID-19 testing. Contact tracing is coordinated through the DuPage County Health Department.
Yes
That is a question for your physician. Students will be excluded from school while they are symptomatic but we do not dictate testing or do contact tracing.
While the parent will always make health decisions for their child, the school has the following safeguards in place: If a child has a fever but no other possible COVID-19 symptoms, they may return after 72 hours fever-free without fever-reducing medication. If a child has a fever and one or more possible COVID-19 symptoms, they are excluded for a minimum of 14 days. If a family chooses to test their child and the test is negative, they may return after 72 hours fever-free without fever-reducing medication.
